11. Describe a defining moment in your country's history. How did it change your nation for the better, or worse?

For me, in my lifetime, the most defining moment in our country's history is 911. There are many, many other defining moments in America’s history but this happened in my lifetime and I’m part of it. I almost lost a couple of friends in that explosion who worked at the "Windows Of The World" restaurant. Luckily they hadn't gone up to it yet when the planes struck. I still have nightmares about that. I truly believe that this catastrophic tragedy showed the world how strong the USA is! That we as a nation will not let this cause us to run and hide. America, New Yorkers especially, picked themselves up and continued to live life as they did before the terrorist act. Yes, many things have changed for us. It’s like the whole “Adam & Eve” thing. Our eyes have been forced open to the horrors of life. But we have to choose whether we live though it or give up. Me personally, I’m a fighter! I moved to NYC after the whole 911 thing even though my mom and dad had serious reservations about it and, I’ll admit it, I was a little scared myself. I’m here now and I intend to get all I can out of it. Heck, you can die falling out of bed wrong. I’m not going to live life in fear!
